Stylianos Papademetriou is a member of the Piraeus Bar Association and has been admitted before the Supreme Court and the Council of State. He has previously worked (for eight years) as a tax lawyer-advisor for one of the “big four” multi-disciplinary firms, and has also cooperated with one of the major Greek law firms, specialised in the field of tax law. He is currently of counsel / tax advisor, in a number of major firms and international corporations. Stylianos specialises in corporate income taxation, taxation of financial instruments, real estate taxation, domestic and international tax planning and Double Tax treaties. He also has a strong specialisation in VAT, indirect taxes, Code of Books and Records (CBR) issues, tax audit procedures and out-of-court settlements. He has represented legal entities and individuals before tax Courts and he has participated in tax litigation procedures leading to landmark court decisions in the field of taxation (discriminatory tax treatment of foreign EU branches of financial institutions, recognition of deduction of input VAT related to non- deductible VAT items in accordance with VAT Directive, validity of composition of the Code of Books and Record’s Committee for the rejection of accounting Books and Records, discriminatory taxation of foreign dividends received by individuals) . He has also been involved, in his capacity as a professional advisor and lawyer, to numerous Greek and foreign companies in a variety of matters.  He has worked in major projects, the most important being those of legal/tax advice, litigation related to food companies, banking and financial institutions, investment companies, insurance companies, construction and industry companies and entities involved in the exploitation of buildings.  He also has remarkable experience in the areas of drafting of commercial agreements, debt collection and legal due diligence. He has numerous publications in several tax and legal magazines and the financial press about several tax issues as well as participation as a speaker at numerous important tax conferences
